The Benicia Parks & Community Services team is honored to receive this Customer Service Award. The Benicia residents and visitors see our staff in many different settings, when you visit one of the beautiful parks, the James Lemos Swim Center, Benicia Community Center, Benicia Senior Center, the City Gym or countless other locations. Our customers’ concerns, questions and suggestions are always a top priority. Our department believes that “Parks Make Life Better” and our goal every single day is to improve and impact the lives we touch through our programs, parks and people. The staff at the Benicia Parks & Community Service Department maintains and operates 211 developed parks and landscaped acres, a 577-acre regional park, 35 city-owned buildings, a city-owned cemetery, an aquatic facility, the Benicia Community Center, over 68 open space access areas and maintenance of 5 landscape and lighting districts in the city. If you are interested in renting out a picnic area at one of our beautiful parks or renting space for an event at one of our indoor facilities please come by and visit us for more information. Our amazing staff is available at the Benicia Community Center Monday through Friday. 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. During your visit you can see lots of great programs and classes in action. You can also sit and enjoy a cup of coffee, free Wi-Fi and meet some new friends.
