We keep “Rambling” along. . .

We made it over the “SLUMP” and everyone had a blast at the Wednesday Night Ramble at the Empress Theatre in downtown Vallejo. I still haven’t seen a lot of you there so put it on the calendar and make a date of it.

Today Ben and I are out early with so much to do and so little time before we have to be at Jelly Belly for Marc Tonnesen’s  fundraiser. Should be fun and will be a great time to catch up with old colleagues in Fairfield. Be on the lookout since you never know where Ben and I will show up!

Stretches and meditation, water the yard, feed and take Ben on a long walk, and off we go. . .

Mid-week slump. . .

Wednesday is usually called the “Hump Day” but sometimes I feel like it’s the “Slump Day”. I feel like Ben and I haven’t stopped since last week and I am looking to the weekend and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down. I would love to say that I am slowing down the rest of the week, but not to be.

Last night the all-county chamber mixer at the Solano Community College was a big success. It was very well attended and I was able to catch up with some colleagues and friends that I haven’t seen in a while. Today Ben and I are glued to our computer most of the day and then we will be entertained by the Vallejo Kiwanis group where we will do a presentation on behalf of the Vallejo Community Arts Foundation. Then we get to come home and “slump”.

I’m still reeling from the devastation that Boston is feeling and I can’t imagine how that city is coping. Pictured here is another of the victims whose life was cut short by idiocy.

Sometimes it’s OK to be sad. . .

Today I am going to need a lot of energy to stay on target. I am so sad at mankind right now; the fact that anyone would be such a coward as to let off a bomb in a group of complete innocent strangers just astounds me. I don’t know why, I have heard of worse atrocities, but I thought (naively of course!) that the world was working towards peace. Then I read on MSN that a woman and child were left to die on a road in India as people drove by, and the husband and father screamed and cried for help. Unbelievable.

I have a full schedule to day so there is no time for peace and contemplation, but my heart will search for just that feeling until I go to sleep tonight. Ben and I will try to make a difference today by making sure we go out of our way for everyone and if everyone would do one kind thing for their fellow man, think what we could do together!

So much fun . . .

This weekend had such an up and down flow. Friday night my good friend, Mars Lasar, had an artist reception at the Napa Valley Museum and was met with incredible wonder and support for his art. Saturday was a day in the yard getting ready for summer BBQ’s and a BBQ with family and friends later in the day. Unfortunately I also found out that one of my first horses that I bought, TR, had died suddenly. This was such sad news for me since I had trained and loved this horse and then sold him to  a friend when I realized he was much happier being a trail and arena horse. He was loved and cared for and that made me feel better but my heart still hurts since he had so much fire and passion in him. Sunday I went on a 10K run and was able to put it all into. Ben and I had a very good weekend and were able to greet Monday with a fresh and excited perspective.

Today Ben and I head to Suisun for meetings and then back to the computer for lots of work. Hope everyone did their taxes before today! Thankfully I have Robert who does that for me!

Nice way to start the day. . .

Waking up in the morning with sunshine is the best! I love getting outside early in the morning and smelling the garden and just having that quiet time before my day starts. Ben and I watered early and now we are going to take it slow since we have Giants baseball and The Masters on TV before we head back to Yountville for an Artists reception for our friend, Mars Lasar.

Yesterday was quite busy but it ended with a fabulous ring at Jessup Cellars in Yountville. Their new wines “Handwritten” are so wonderful. The Jessup Cellars Zinfandel and “Table for Four” blend are simply stunning wines, but the “Two Words” and the Cabernet by Handwritten, their sister winery in St. Helena are really quite spectacular. We had a great time and since they are dog friendly, Ben was quite the star. Ben’s best friends, Michael Applegate and Linda Beard, quickly took Ben and made sure he was always introduced to new guests. I think Ben loves his job!

What a day. . .

Yesterday Ben and I took off VERY early and didn’t get home until 11:00 pm. In between we started off with meetings in Benicia, a walk for Ben in Benicia, then back to Vallejo for lunch and emails, then a jaunt to Yountville for a meeting and then to Walnut Creek for a Lafayette Chamber of Commerce Mixer. We had a very good night’s sleep. (Check out Ben’s new friend that we met on his walk!)

Today starts just about the same with a meeting in Benicia at 9 am and back to Vallejo for another meeting, then lunch and yes,  another meeting before heading to Yountville for the Chamber of Commerce Mixer at Jessup Cellars. I love my job!

Stretches, water the yard since it will be hot again today, feed and take Ben on a long walk, and off we go. . .

What a win. . .

Of course I could be talking about two separate teams – The SF Giants or the Golden State Warriors. Both teams deserve accolades for such performances. The Giants came from behind and the Warriors completed what they have been fighting for all year. Congrats to both! (Lafayette Chamber member Michael Heller was so excited to get his confetti globe at the SF Giants game!)

Today I start early with a tourism meeting, then getting some writing done before heading  to Yountville and then off to Lafayette; a 3-county day! Wowza, Ben and I are going to be tired tonight.

OOPS

My brain has been on such overload that today got away from me and forgot to tell you about me and Ben’s adventures. We have lots to do and not enough time today so we have to run to keep up. The upside is that I only have to be in two counties today!

Today my Timmy pitches for the Giants, don’t forget to watch!
