The Superbowl is taking over . . .

With the San Francisco 49ers in the Superbowl the Bay Area and our little community is getting caught up with Niner frenzy. I can hardly take it and I have to stay focused since it is also my deadline week. Ben and I are going to be out bright and early today so we can get all of our obligations filled. I am so lucky!

Early am stretches and meditation; feed and walk Ben and off we go. . .

Did you see that moon last night . . .

I couldn't resist using this picture!

Being a self-professed “moonaholic” I look at the moon every night and each night I am in awe of the wonderment of nature. With each vision I see something different in the moon and have a completely new reaction to that sighting as well. Last night I saw it from Contra Costa and Solano County and each vista was completely different. Both were beautiful but each was unique. I somehow remember a song back in the eighties that was a show tune (think mice I think) that mentioned two lovers looking at the same moon in different places and I have to say each would see something completely. That somehow makes me sad. Oh well, I have no idea where all that rambling came from!

Today I am continuing on my deadline path – trying to not be sick and making sure  talk to all of my contacts. I hope I can get to bed early tonight!

It starts again . . .

Ben being shy!

I never stopped Friday, going to a fundraiser for VCAF and then followed by a birthday party. Saturday saw me working with members of the VCAF Board all day and then going to a dinner party. Sunday Ben and I were up and out the door and headed to church, breakfast and our daily walk. I then went home and died. I literally stayed in bed the rest of the day fighting what I think is that nasty flu that everyone has. My bones ache, my head hurts and I am sol COLD. Hopefully Ben will take great care of me since I ‘did not call anyone to tell them I was feeling bad. I don’t want to get anyone else sick. On that note, I hope I make it through the day!

We made it . . .

At a recent phot shoot at the French Laundry Gardens Ben and I had so much fun!

Yesterday was over in a second! Vacaville first thing, back in Vallejo for a lunch appointment, afternoon appointments, and finally dinner in Benicia. OK, today will be easier, right? Three-county day for me today; appointments and emails to get out and then a fundraiser and a birthday party tonight. I love my job, I love my job, I love my job . . .

Wednesday keeps going . . .

Diane Jones, Volunteer of the Year for the Town of Yountville

Yesterday started with early run and stretches and I never stopped until after 10 pm. Exercise, work, lunch, (I had Mexican food for lunch and everyone knows that’s not my first choice but it was GREAT!) more work, dinner in Yountville and The Ramble at the Empress to end the night. I should be exhausted but curiously enough I woke up with loads of energy. It might have something to do with the fact that I need to get so much done today. First thing this morning I am headed to Vacaville then back to Benicia and then to Danville. Ben is going to be VERY tired by the end of the day.

One of Ben’s favorite people in Yountville, Diane Jones, received the Volunteer of the Year last night at a special Town dinner. She SOOOO deserved it. It was nice to see her husband and daughter beam with pride.

Once again the “Ramble” at the Empress Theatre in downtown Vallejo lit up the night. I am so glad that I didn’t go straight home and that I stopped to see the end of the show. How does Don Bassey make this event continue to amaze us?

Ben visits with Ken Casper who won a "Locals Choice Award"

Yesterday was not as bad as I thought. Ben and I were able to get a lot accomplished and still feel like we had an evening to ourselves. That will fly out the window tomorrow; we go all day and into the night as well. Ain’t life grand?

Yesterday we had a chance to talk to a couple of the Local Happenings Magazine “Local’s Choice” Award Winners and what fun. Everyone is so excited for the magazine to come out and I still have so much work to do before that happens. Hopefully I can keep them all at bay.

A day of reflection. . .

Yesterday was such a HUGE day for a lot of reasons. Thinking of Martin Luther King, Jr. and what he stood up for and ultimately died for was something we should all remember. Racism and hatred should not and cannot be tolerated. Take a moment today to say hi to someone that you don’t know or feel you normally would not have in your circle of friends and see how refreshing it makes you feel. Try doing it every day and see how your life changes.

Ben and I have so much to do today, how do we fit 16 hours into 10? Oh well, let’s try!

WOW, what a weekend. . .

The weather, the fun, the company and not to mention the NINERS! No need to say more!

This week I go into deadline mode so more fun in store for Ben and I! We need to make sure that we put the magazine to bed so that we can concentrate on the 49ers winning the Superbowl. Wouldn’t that be something? First the Giants win the World Series and now the Niners going to the Superbowl. I am almost afraid to say it, to somehow jinx it. I will silently do my prayers.
