Looking forward to a great weekend. . .

As seen through our eyes!

To end the week on such a high note is great. It was so beautiful yesterday; it might have started out SO COLD but turned into one of the most beautiful days in quite some time. I am hoping for more of the same for this weekend.

Yesterday Ben and I traveled all the way up to St. Helena and stayed most of the day in the Napa Valley and we were so happy we did since we were able to visit with clients and friends and have a very relaxing day. Thanks Debbie for your hospitality as well as Aaron and Sarah at The French Laundry. What a meal at Pacific Blues Café! The Halibut special was to die for – I will have to call Jeff and make sure he lets me know when that lemon caper fish is on the menu.

I am definitely tired and can barely make it to bed, thank you Ben for guiding me.

What a Moon. . .

Ben took time out to pose with the staff of Yountville Dental

As everyone knows I am a “Moonaholic” and I look forward to each and every evening when I can look at the moon and be amazed at the shape and size of the moon on any given night. Last night the moon was such a perfect crescent with the Harvest color. Perfect.

Yesterday never ended, I got home at almost midnight and I am leaving the house at 8:30 am. I am tired. Hopefully I will get a chance to go to bed early tonight! Ben would appreciate it. Three-county day yesterday, two-county day tomorrow and then rest.

Wednesday Morning, 3 AM. . .

A friend sent this to me from her home in Montana and even though it's cold here, I guess Ben and I should feel lucky that it's not snowing here!

Simon and Garfunkel wrote about this in 1964 and I was 3 but today I am writing it and I understand. Once again we are at the “hump day” and I appreciate it but need another two days this week to feel like Ben and I have accomplished everything we need to. Oh well, ce la vie!

Yesterday ended up being a two-county day and today I believe will be a three-county day. As long as we are laughing and sharing memories I have no problem with it and I believe I will be writing memos for my 2013 jar.

Ruby Tuesday. . .

Ben and I love our walks on the waterfront

Ben and I made it through the day yesterday and today is just as packed with appointments and phone calls so we are up bright and early. Tuesday is one of those days that has the ability to change the entire mood of the rest of the week based on what you get accomplished. Today is a three-county day, so game on!

Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho, it’s off to work we go. . .

A perfect ending to a perfect weekend!

After such a great weekend it is hard to put my mind set in another direction. Ben and I have a VERY full week though so we need to be focused and put our heads down and work, work, work.

The Vallejo Chamber of Commerce Installation dinner went off beautifully and everyone had a great time. Then football Saturday and Sunday commenced and every game but one went our way. (Or should I say my way?) The one that really counted of course was the Niners so Ben and I will be working hard all week so this weekend we can be ready for the parties. I have to say once again that we have the best friends and family – we had such a good time.

Not sure what the weather is bringing this week, but today it is COLD, so sweater on. Stretches and meditation; feed and walk Ben and off we go. . .

New Year, new clients. . .

Geoff of Pro-Faction Martial Arts & Fitness takes time out to smile for the camera with Ben

Yesterday started very early with a meeting in Benicia for the Tourism Committee and Ben was in rare form and wanted to head down First Street for a walk as soon as the meeting was over. Lucky for us, we ran into new and old clients. Ben made a new ad sale in that short time. Geoff of Pro-Faction Martial Arts & Fitness met us on the street and we just loved his enthusiasm for his new business. We quickly became friends and Local Happenings Magazine is very excited to help promote his business.

We ran into Marge from The Blue Goose right next door who was VERY excited to see us since she had just found out she won A Local’s Choice Award for best Retailer in Solano County. It was nice to see her excitement and get a chance to visit with her.

It’s always nice to attend a Chamber of Commerce Mixer and last night I had many choices. I chose to go to the Fairfield/Vacaville Chamber Mixer held at Momentum Auto in Fairfield and I made the right choice. I walked away with 3 new clients and met quite a few other potentials. Focus – my new mantra is really paying off!

“The Hump Day” was appreciated. . .

The "Ramble" was just getting started!

I definitely needed a hump day this week. Since I have been off over the holidays I just can’t seem to get back in to my normal routine. Today I will take a moment to make sure that I am up early and off since my day is packed with appointments and “things to do”.

Ben appreciated spending time with everyone yesterday, we were in Vallejo, Benicia, Yountville, American Canyon and Fairfield and still found time to attend the School Board Meeting where the Vallejo Executive Lions Club was being honored. Whew! I should have gone to bed then, but I decided to still go to the Wednesday Night Ramble at the Empress Theatre in downtown Vallejo. SO glad that I did! Don Bassey continues to surprise me with the many talented musicians he brings together. Great job Don!

It just kept getting better and better!

The road well-traveled. . .

It has been so much fun talking to all of the new Local Happening Award Winners. Ben and I have been out talking to the award winners and the enthusiasm has been contagious. We have so much to do with so little time. The holidays always make things a little hectic after all the fun has worn off.

Today we start our training for our runs that we have scheduled for this year. Ben is VERY excited and I feel VERY focused on our goals for 2013 – you never know where we are going to turn up right now. One place you always know where we are going to be on a Wednesday is Don Bassey’s Wednesday Night Ramble at the Empress in downtown Vallejo. Hope to see you there!
