A New Year's vista to enjoy!
It feels like I never left. Ben and I were kept very busy yesterday with appointments and stops to see clients. Today continues with more appointments and continued goals being met. I am very excited with the New Year and the goals we have set for ourselves. The air still seems to have a feeling of the holiday spirit lingering, people seem happier and not so tired. Try smiling all day and saying hi to at least two strangers and see how different you feel. I laughed so much yesterday that my cheeks still hurt.
The New Local Happening Award Winners have just been notified of their win and the excitement is so great. The February/March issue will have all the winners listed and you will get a chance to read a little bit about your local businesses in the Solano, Napa and Contra Costa Areas.

Part of our New Year's Resolution: Enjoy and appreciate everyday! Oysters and Chandon Champagne are a good start.
What a great Holiday! Ben and I never stopped and we are harnessing that energy for the New Year. Today we are off and running trying to start on all of our New Year’s Resolutions. We have made our list, and checked it twice and we feel pretty good about 2013. We hope that everyone had a happy and safe holiday and let’s get ready to experience love, laughter and memories!

Ben waits outside of Bouchon Bakery for his treats!
Since the world did not end, Ben and I want to wish all of our readers, friends and clients a happy and safe holiday season. We will be taking some time off and will not be checking in until January 7! We plan to visit friends and family near and a little far and spend some much needed down time doing nothing. We’ll miss you!

Downtown Napa alive with Christmas cheer!

I'll try to dream of a quaint little cottage like this one to help me sleep tonight!
That elusive stranger. Sleep did not come to me last night so today will not be easy. Ben will have to pick up the slack and keep the showing going. Another county calls our name today so we’re up early and off we go.

Ben just loves the French Laundry Gardens but then again who doesn't?
Last night was a long one and tonight doesn’t appear that it will be any different. Meetings, meetings and more meetings and then “The Ramble.” Don Bassey and his group just keep getting better and better each time I hear them, and I am sure that tonight will no different. Ben and I have been trying to sleep in since we are burning the candles at both ends and it is starting to show, but unfortunately what we want is not always what we get.

I love romantic houses! Can't resist them.
So this is supposed to a slow week looking forward to taking time off next week. NOT. Once again I forgot to hit the “Publish” button! I have not stopped and I seem busier than ever. Isn’t everyone supposed to be getting ready for Christmas? I guess not. Ben saw some old friends today and I am so glad that we were able to catch up with them before the holidays.

Ben with Dad and I at the San Juan Bautista Mission! Great memories.
Today is starts our countdown to our vacation. I will be shutting down after Friday morning for a 12 day vacation. We always look forward to this time of year so we can refuel. Candles, freshly baked cookies, cool foggy weather and long walks. WOW, I can almost feel it now. This week Ben and I will make sure that we say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of our clients so that we can start our new year off right.

Ben took time out to pose with the Vallejo Chamber of Commerce staff
Last night Local Happenings Magazine co-hosted the Vallejo Chamber of Commerce Mixer with our good friends at TEAM Superstores and it was a great turnout and “fabulous” party. The food was great and the company even better. It went way past the designated end time, but oh well; we were having a good time.
Today Ben and I have a lot to accomplish so once again we are up and on our way a little too early for my liking. Can you bring me a latte please?
