A couple of days off. . .

That sure felt good – but now back to business! Lots to do and people to see. Ben and I will be in Walnut Creek, Napa and Yountville. Not too much going on.

Ben making friends at Hog Island Oyster Company

Over the weekend and on Monday and Tuesday we were in Vallejo, Benicia, Napa, Calistoga, Pt. Reyes and yes, Marshall. Marshall? I know I had no idea either, but this town has a population of 50 and is home to Hog Island Oyster Company. This was quite the experience and we were able to meet a lot of the Morimoto employees from Napa taking a day off. They served us VERY good pulled pork sandwiches and we ate a ton of oysters, what could be better? Oh yeah, beer was had by all, now all is good in the world.

BIG stretches, feed Ben, latte, and I’m off. . .

Ben Relaxing in Pt. Reyes

The sun is shining. . .

Thank goodness that it looks like it will be a great day on the golf course! Today is the Vallejo Executive Lions Golf Tournament at Blue Rock Springs Golf Course and it should be loads of fun. Look for pictures on Monday.

Yesterday, Benicia Main Street rolled out their Farmer’s Market for the 20th straight year. If you have never been there it is something that you have to do if you are a Benician. It was like old home week, familiar faces and great to see everyone. Thanks everyone for the BDay wishes!

BIG stretches, feed Ben, latte, and I’m off. . .

OOPS. . .

Ben outside Bistro Jeanty in Yountville

Have you ever at the end of the day and you know something is missing or you forgot to do something? Well, welcome to my world yesterday. I forgot my blog, forgot to take Ben on a walk and forgot to deliver a job. Old age is setting in. That’s all I can say.

Without further ado, please forgive me, no stretches, feed Ben, latte, and I’m off. . .

Bouncing balls. . .

Sometimes life throws out a couple of curve balls and you have to either hit them or try to avoid being hit. When I am out there visiting with advertisers and the locals of each city I go to, I am always amazed at the various stories I hear. There are the sad ones, the happy ones, the amazing ones and the crazy ones, we all carry stories and I think it is important to share our stories so that we are reminded that we are after all, just human. So today, try to tell your story to someone you don’t know or doesn’t know your story or listen to someone else’s story and see how similar we all are.

Enough story telling now onto the day, Ben and I will be going to the Vallejo Executive Lions Club meeting today to see Mark Gamba, our neighbor, get inducted, yeah! I will be visiting Oxbow Market and Yountville later this afternoon with I believe a fabulous dinner that will be hosted by one of the wineries. I’ll let you know just how fabulous tomorrow!

Ben was out visiting a lot yesterday, so today he will let me lead. Stretches, feed Ben, latte, and I’m off. . .

Mondays are either good or bad. . .

Or maybe they just seem that way – I think we should always look at Mondays as a chance for a do-over. We have a chance to start over every week and Monday is that catalyst, so Monday should be viewed as a New Year’s Day, right? Well, at least it sounds good.

Home show is over – what a great time Nicole and Jodi. All your hard work paid off. Opening Day on the Bay kicked off in Benicia and what a party they had. The heat was almost overwhelming but today is cooler and we are back to reality but I believe it was perfect for all of the activities.

Happy Monday plus the start of my birthday week, (lots of drinks!) stretches, feed Ben, latte, and I’m off. . .

You’ve got to get up every morning. . .

. . .with a smile on your face, and show the world, all the love in your heart. Oh, I’m sorry I’m supposed to be typing, not singing. This is my mantra that I try to wake up to each day; (thank you Carol King!) and today it was so easy to see why. Sunshine, fresh air, smell of cut grass and birds chirping; what could be better?  Take a moment and think of why this is the best day of the year and you’ll see all the other great moments of the year come rolling up on you and guess what, you’ll be in a good mood and wait . . .is that a smile I see?

Enough of “Self Love 101” I have a few things to do before heading to Hiddenbrooke for the 1st Annual 20-30 Golf Tournament. Get out my sun block since it is going to get HOT. Next week the Vallejo Executive Lions Club Golf Tournament will take place at Blue Rock Springs so I have to get my practice in now.

Ben greeting patrons at the Napa Chamber "Mixpo"

Last Night’s Mixpo sponsored by the Napa Chamber of Commerce was excellent. The event was held at the Napa Smith Brewery and this was my inaugural visit, I rate it a do-over. (This is good!) I now will have to go back and try the various beers with their $10 tasting. I’m thinking this could be a great deal.

Today also marks the first day of the Vacaville Total Home and Garden Show that will go through Sunday. The event is held in huge tents behind the Nut Tree Complex and it looks like they will have a great weekend with this weather. Good job Jodi and Nicole!

Stretches, Ben is fed, latte, and I’m off. . .

Here comes the sun. . .

I love waking up to sunshine! Birds are chirping, dogs are barking and the garbage truck is coming around the corner. Wait, does the sound of garbage trucks have to be in there? Probably not, but they were today and it was not an unwelcome sound since it got me up and outside. I love going out in the yard on these days and watering the plants and grass and waving at the neighbors as they take off to that most obvious place during the week, the office. That’s when I love my job, working from the house or driving around to beautiful cities and talking to business owners – it’s OK.

Lots to do on this gorgeous day, a few appointments, lunch, afternoon photo shoot and then a Mixpo in Napa. It might be a double latte day!

Stretches, Ben is eating, drinking my first latte, and she’s gone. . .

Service is first. . .

Ben saying hi while out delivering Local Happenings Magazine

I was up and out the door at 7:45 am to attend the Realtors Board Breakfast to spread the news of our Vallejo Executive Lions Golf Tournament. Great to see so many old faces and great to meet some new ones!

Yesterday was a great day with the sunshine and feelings of spring and summer upon us. If I hadn’t had to run up to Napa for a dinner I would have enjoyed BBQing in the backyard and sipping a cocktail. Visions of summer are dancing around in my mind.

Today I have 3 more appointments before noon so I better get going; I had no time for stretches today, but Ben ate, drank my latte, and was gone. . .
