Forget spring fever, it is even harder to work when you have summer fever! The heat is back and it really makes you want to be on a beach sipping an umbrella cocktail. Oh well!
It’s on to work I go, working on the next issue, emailing advertisers, picking photographs and editing stories. Can it really be that I am working on the August/September issue? It does not seem possible.
I do have to plug an event that I think is definitely worth leaving work a little early to get to. Napa Style in Yountville is having their summer gourmet chef series at the store every Friday at 5 pm. Every week a different chef will be hosting the class and you can learn a few tips and taste some of their fantastic recipes. This is definitely a no-brainer!
Stretches, feed Ben, latte, and I’m off. . .

Ben and his friend, Myles, are out for a relaxing walk!
This is the best time to reflect and realize that life is not boring – but great! When I realize that settling in and just relaxing on the couch seems glorious, that is when I truly see the glass as half full. Usually if you think about it, that comfortable feeling is happiness. Take time to enjoy these moments and understand that this is what life is about, the everyday romance and joy of real life. I love it!
On that note, just more boring things to do today and I must support three of my advertisers tonight by attending Piccolo’s fashion show at The Rellik Tavern with Renee Jordan of Jordan Real Estate. Whew, hard work!
Stretches, feed Ben, latte, and I’m off. . .

Derrik Karimian and his matey, his fiance Lindsay, take in the bounty at the Pirate Festival
I took lessons over the weekend in “Pirate”. I am not sure I am proficient yet, but it appears to not be too hard. When you don’t know what to say you reply, “Arrr . . .” with a pause and everyone looks like they understand. Seriously though, I was able to make it to the Pirate Festival at the Vallejo Waterfront this weekend and what a hoot! On that note, I never saw so many “Hoots” not even at “Hooters”! My life is a little more complete now.
This week is off to a busy start. The magazines are out so I am taking a little time to play in the Omega Boys Golf Tournament. I tried to get some yard work done this weekend but it was so HOT there was no way I could be out in the sun, so I am looking forward to being outside in “normal” weather today.
BIG stretches, feed Ben, latte, and I’m off. . .

The littlest Pirate!

I have heard that Pirates are rats, but this is ridiculous!

Pirates sing?

The Nut Factory in Lafayette is a must see!
After watching a “Perfect Game” Wednesday night, I just was on a high all day. It was like Christmas out there, everyone was talking about Matt Cain and his perfect night. Well deserved, and history was made. OK, back to reality. I had appointments and advertisers to catch up with, and I also spent some time in Danville since they had their monthly Chamber of Commerce Mixer. The event was well attended as usual and we were hosted by Danville Interior Design Gallery and were served “Woo Woo Martinis” from Martini Sky. Good Job guys!
This weekend there are so many events going on – Danville Fine Arts Faire, The Pirate Festival in Vallejo and V Marketplace in Yountville hosts their Annual Car Show. Pick and choose or try to get to all three, you choose.

Ben greets everyone at the Danville Chamber of Commerce Mixer as usual!
Stretches, (back to complete set!) feed Ben, latte, and I’m off. . .
Last night I was able to watch a perfect game. SF Giants pitcher, Matt Cain, did what no one else had done in franchise history and pitched a “perfect game”. No errors, no hits, no walks, and 14 strikeouts. He had a lot of help from his “friends” who made sure that he got his day. I will be able to say I saw this amazing feat, ten, twenty and hopefully 40 years from now. WOW!
Stretches, (feel so great I only have to do half!) feed Ben, latte, and I’m off. . .

Ben waited patiently at the door while speeches were being made
Sometimes my job is just so much fun! I get to meet great people, hear amazing stories and usually do all of this while drinking great wine and eating incredible food. Last night at the Yountville Business to Business Exchange, Somerston Winery outdid themselves hosting a fabulous event along with the Napa Valley Wine Festival. Ben was able to get a lot of hugs and from what I saw, a few snacks.
Today I am off and I end up in another one of my favorite cities, Lafayette. I just love Lafayette and the people who I encounter always seem so friendly. I have a few things to do before I can leave, coffee meeting in am along with a few magazine drops and then I can take off.

Not before I do my stretches, feed Ben, hold off on my latte until my meeting, and go . . .

Grandma, you're squeezing my cheeks!!

Ben made sure that only people with appointments made it into Leslie Musante's office at TEAM Superstores!
The dates do not confirm this, but yesterday definitely felt like August! We will welcome summer solstice on June 20 at approximately 7 pm, until then it just feels like summer. The attitude of everyone I talked to yesterday was definitely in summer mode, very different from last year at this time.
Today I am off early and going out to meet advertisers and future advertisers. Attending a couple meetings and I am attending a huge wine event in Yountville hosted by the Chamber of Commerce. I will be sure to take lots of photos so you can see the fun!
I need to make time for my stretches, feed Ben, latte, and I’m off. . .

Ben is waiting for exciting things to happen today!
This hardly ever happens in one’s lifetime, a very rare phenomenon: the stellar alignment of all my birth-planets. This perfect alignment will start tonight at exactly midnight, and last for approximately 21 days. So BIG things and GOOD things will be on target for me! SO LET’S GET GOING!
BIIIIG stretches, feed Ben, latte, and I’m off. . .
